Bryan Albrecht was appointed president of Gateway Technical College, a two-year college in Wisconsin of approximately 29,000 students, on January 3, 2006. Prior to this appointment, Bryan served as Gateway's chief academic officer/chief operating officer and as an associate vice president for advanced technology centers, PK-16 education programming, and business partnership development for strategic college initiatives.
Prior to his Gateway career, Bryan served as the Wisconsin State Director for Career and Technical Education for K-12 education with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, and served on several Governors’ Committees to improve workforce development and strengthen the relationships between secondary and postsecondary education. He taught technology in the Cornell and Kewaunee school districts, and served as director of Career and Technical Education, youth organization advisor, and athletic coach.
Bryan presently serves as President of the Association for Career and Technical Education. He also serves as president of the Presidents Advisory Council for the National Council of Advanced Technology Centers. His other current related leadership positions include Board of Directors for the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute, Biopharmaceutical Technology Center Institute, Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers Association Foundation, Manufacturing Skills Standards and Assessment Council, and as well as several local and regional committees and community organizations.
He earned his Bachelor's, Master’s, and Educational Specialist's degrees in Technology Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and is currently working toward his Ph.D.
